And we'r back! Not that we went for a month if you look at the date of my entry, i just choose to m.c myself from virtual world awhile coz..well actually there's no reason..why should i give a reason anyway kan?
ok the trip was definitely unforgettable and pretty funny actually.hah.
shit, i dont know how to start without making it sound like a trip report..but what the hell, i'll just make it like a trip report sua..dont go to sleep now..
07May07(Monday)...YAWWWWNnnnn!!!
my parents and his mum sent us off, early flight, 8hours to tokyo airport and transit for an hour we were warmly welcomed by my japanese friend whom i met at SQ training centre abt two years ago the moment we stepped out of the plane, he was sweet enough to accompany us all the way in transit and best part was, we were presented with a cake on board our flight to L.A courtesy of him that says "happy honeymoon in Los Angeles,From Sato Akhiko..i have a picture of it but stupid p.c cannot upload pix so no prove.anyway, we manage to only eat two slices of the cake coz we cant bring the rest of it out to states..boring.
after the 16hours flight we finally reached LAX and was led to the customs, which at first was something han dread doing...we were quite surprise to see the staff working at the immigration counter, they looked like those customs officers u see in JB! in other words they look like us! it took us about 20mins before our turn, had abit of a delay with the officer there coz of the Last Name and First Name thingy, here we are tryin to explain our father's name is our last name and they insist that it should be our first name..so all the way i'm Ms Binte Abdol Rahim to them...leceh. then we went to collect our bags and literally breeze through immigration after this white man asked me, 'any food items to declare?mangoes?papayas?mangosteen?pineapple?'..and thats it!
Waited for the shuttle bus to Anaheim which is about 90minutes off L.A, pretty smooth ride, driver was Russian and didnt understand how come he was perspiring so much, we were on the bus with about 8 other people and this asian guy beside me dozed off on my shoulder...ofcoz he didnt stay there for long coz whenver the bus jerked he woke up again. so yeah, the weather at that time was pretty warm but dry, we reached the hotel at about 1500hr and it was just the right time to check in. We stayed at Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites which is about two junctions away from Disneyland, very near if u ask me, ofcourse there are a few rows of hotel much nearer to Disney but with our tight budget I think we had the best deal (about USD70 per night), there's no porter to lead us to our room or carry our luggage, its like a mini chalet and unfortunaltely for us, our hotel was on the 2nd floor(only two floors), so that means we have to lug our bags up the stairs, but its ok coz we only do that twice. The room was huge, fit for four, two queen size beds, toilet wasnt really up to standard and the heater was crazy coz u cant get it on a moderate temperature, its either too hot or too cold..heh. there's a balcony, but the view is of the other blocks of chalets...tv was sandy but thank gawd the channels were watchable..Comedy Central, BET, sitcoms back to back(watched cosby show!rosanne!fresh prince!). After settling in, we head down and check if we can collect our disney tickets for the next day, went to the counter only to find it close...and so we decided to check out the area, actually took their local bus to a few bustops away, bought some junk food and check out the tshirt outlet that they advertised in the hotel which was actually nothing great and then jumped up the bus again before dark..we got kinda nervous whenever a car with loud rap music passed us from behind...most were all hispanics or AA(african american..han banned me from saying the N word even if its in a form of whispering), we walked back to our hotel from the bustop...see i think we're not use to the weird dry weather and so the moment we stepped into the room our skin starts itching so badly that we immediately become monkeys after every day trip.atfirst i blamed the carpets but nah it was just the weather. so yeah, at night, we decided to check out Downtown Disney, nights are pretty cooling, had to wear thick jacket out..Downtown Disney kinda remind me of Clarke Quay except everything's disney, they had the main disney store, bought lotsa souvenirs over the span of 7 nights..kept coming back to buy stuff.things are pretty pricey tho'.we then head back to our hotel and had an early night so that we'll be fresh awake the next day for disneyland.
Day 2 - Disneyland Park
Woke up about 0600hr, had breakfast at IHOP(International House of Pancakes), served by this very hot waiter who looked like Jay Hernandez! When he said "Hi guys, my name's Javier and I'll be here to serve you" I widen my eyes and then looked at Han who by the way knew what I was thinkin..even he thought Javier was hot! han wanted to take a pic of him..but i was too shy to ask him haha..we ordered two sets of omelets and pancakes and forgot about how big their servings are in the states. it was HUGE! we could only finish about half of what we ordered.so after breakfast went to the booth to collect our tickets we bought online, queued up abit to get our bags checked, took the disney map and planned our way around the park. I've done my research on what to do first and where to go so we kinda know which rides to take first etc. They had a few lands, and we went to Tomorrowland and took the Space Mountain, which is like mini rollercoaster,we didnt really have to wait that long. The ride was ok-ok baby lah, i expected more actually...after that we tookd all the popular rides in the other Lands like Pirates of the Carribean,Haunted Mansion,Jungle Trail and the 3d shows like Honey I shrunk the Audience,Its a Small World ride was cute and unforgettable to me lah coz u're taken on a journey to different parts of the world in a form of cute dolls dressed up in different costumes with 'its a small world' sung in different languages..cool!!! Basically we spent the whole day there, from the time the park opened at 0900hr till 1800hr, we bought a two day pass and decided to spend the day in Disneyland Park and the second day in Disneyland California Adventure. Disneyland Park is a beautiful place for all ages, but i would say it would be more exciting for children below 10, Disney put in so much effort in making everything from the decorations, uniforms, ambience and rides so appealing that u forget about how long u have to wait for a two minute ride. We enjoyed witnessing all the cute mat salleh babies and children with their Snow White, Beauty and the Beast,Pirates,Peter Pan costumes, and the adults with the mickey head gears, getting the whole family involved in wearing the same mickey tshirts from the Grandpa to the mummy to the babies...it was just great. about late afternoon we decided to drop by California Adventure and check out the rides and plan our route for our 2nd day there..managed to take the Maliboomer which is just a drop!!!! and the Hollywood Hotel which, also a drop 'cept that u're in the dark!! it was cool nak mampos! hahah! went back to our hotel with very aching feet and scratch, scratch, scratch somemore, watched cosby show and went to sleep.
Day 3 Universal Studios
This was the first of our little glitch. Suppose to wait for our tour bus to pick us up at the correct bustop, but it did not come!!! we thot we missed it,till now we didnt know what happened. Lucky with my muka tebal I asked the bus driver(an AA) who happened to pick some people up from the same bustop and after talking in the walkie talkie we had another bus picked us up....imagine,if not we could have missed our chance to go there! Anyway, Universal Studio was different from Disney..its more hollywood than anything else. We took all the rides there is, like back to the Future and got all wet in the jurassic park ride..went to the studio tour, its a 45minute tour, something that all visitors must experience. Got to see the houses in Westeria Lane(is that how u spell it?), the Tokyo Drift Cars, performed infront of us! there was a moment when the car was suspended like as if it was coming to us! then went into a mock up subway and we experieced flood and mass of water flowing towards us, it was super cool!! Loved it! took pictures with spongebob, shrek, captain america, walked abit at Universal City which is like Downtown Disney...regretted that we didnt walk till the end coz i am sure there are more things to see there.reached hotel by about 7plus and i think we ate takeway foo in the hotel, more tv,scratch scratch then sleep.
Day 4 Disneyland California Adventure
Most of my colleagues didnt get to go this part coz it opened just recently, to cater to the teens and adults who are keen to try more daring rides..we took all the rides there is, the rollercoaster, best! and the virtual plane ride called 'Soaring over California', to me its a simple ride but very hi-tech, you're seated and move around as if u are in a glider and have a bird's eye view of the beach(u can literally smell the ocean), the golden gate bridge etc...very cool lah. we got wet from riding this tugboat thingy, that was fun, and took the Hollywood Hotel elevator again and actually posed for the camera before we drop down!!!hahahah! Managed to catch the Aladdin Show which was about 90minutes, we both enjoyed it, thanks to Genie, he was hilarious. After the show we went back to hotel, rest(and scratch somemore) n went out again to catch the 7pm Parade of Dreams, which featured all the Disney Characters in their respective floats, from Beauty n the Beast to Cinderella to Alice in Wonderland,to Little Mermaid, to Peter Pan and Pinocchio...very nice, i like. Went to Downtown Disney again, did somemore shopping, had dinner then went back to hotel.
ok this entry is abit too long even i am ganggu with the length..so i'll continue again some other time hor..or never? hahah!
anyway just now i was so officially stress at work i had migraine.i've not exercise for a bloody long time and i think i've put on weight, nad just told me i actually have butt now..to her its an achivement,to me it means i cant really fit in to hipster jeans..
